Relationship Issues

Are you tired of getting into the same conflict with your partner over and over again? Or maybe you’re wondering why your relationships never seem to work out. I can help you dig into your relational patterns and get to the core of what’s going on. We will explore your attachment style, past trauma, or what else might be getting in the way of the love you desire.

Codependency

When your behaviors and actions are influenced by your partner to the point you start to ignore your own needs, it’s an indicator that there are some codependent patterns in your relationship dynamic. This can show up through hyper-independence, compliance, control, judging yourself harshly, or not asserting yourself. It’s important to recognize these patterns because they can become a barrier to developing healthy relationships, or getting what you need.

The Daring Way™

The fear that we might not belong provokes feelings of shame, which often results in us suppressing our own needs to avoid rejection or abandonment. This can lead to us losing our authenticity and feeling unappreciated or undervalued along the way. As a Certified Daring Way™ Facilitator, I use a curriculum based on the research of Dr. Brené Brown to help you work through your shame so that you can foster more compassion and connection with yourself and others. The hope is that this work will empower you to feel worthy and courageous enough to ask for what you need in your relationships.

Relationships are hard enough, stop getting in your own way!

When our needs are not met as a child we begin to change ourselves to fit in. We learn to be perfect, perform, and people-please for validation. This is how you learned to ask for your needs to be met. So now as an adult you struggle to identify what you need from yourself and others. This may show up in your relationships as: avoidance, overthinking, overreacting, or minimizing your own experiences.

In our work together, I will help you build the confidence to get your needs met, teach you how to respond when others can’t meet your needs, and communicate directly instead of being passive aggressive. It's time for you to embrace your authenticity and stop living for others so that you can feel fulfilled in your relationships and stop sacrificing yourself for love.

Some areas we will explore together include:
Understanding your attachment style and how it impacts the way you show up in relationships
Overcoming betrayal and traumatic experiences that influence your current relationships
Breaking patterns of codependency or self-sabotaging behaviors
Communicating in a way where you feel seen, heard, and understood
Deepening physical and emotional intimacy

We will explore different relationship patterns and how you can communicate in a way that your partner can actually hear you.
